Pender, Neb. (September 8, 2025) – Pender Community Hospital (PCH) is proud to announce the installation and launch of a new, cutting-edge CT scanner, the SOMATOM go.Top from Siemens Healthineers. This marks a significant upgrade from the previous CT machine, which had been in service since May 2017.

Following a month of dedicated construction and installation efforts, the new system is already transforming diagnostic imaging at the hospital. The SOMATOM go.Top offers high-speed, high-resolution scanning with up to 128 slices, enabling ultra-fast image acquisition and exceptional clarity—particularly beneficial for cardiac, trauma, and neurological imaging.

“This upgrade reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients,” said Melinda Strehle, Lab and Radiology Manager for PCH. “The new CT machine allows us to deliver faster, more accurate diagnoses while also improving the overall patient experience.”

Key features of the new CT system include:

  • Automation: The scanner guides technologists through each procedure, ensuring consistency and reducing variability across scans.
  • Enhanced Patient Comfort: With a more spacious opening, ambient lighting, and wireless tablet operation, the system is designed to reduce anxiety and create a more relaxed environment for patients.

The addition of the SOMATOM go.Top positions Pender Community Hospital at the forefront of imaging technology, ensuring that patients receive timely, precise, and compassionate care.
